playing politics Has it been six months already? It has? Hope you had a great time off!
I'm Swiss. Really. A full on Swiss citizen. Which means I'm neutral. I also happen to think there are some very attractive shades of gray in this world. But recently, finally, mercifully I abandoned my pretense of being politically independent. Today I must say what I really feel: “If you're a Republican, you're either evil or stupid.” I just can't think of a third possibility as hard as I rack my brains (my fuzzy, fuzzy brains due to my current state of withdrawal; more to follow).
It's fashionable among those living on the coasts to bash Texas and all its inhabitants. Now, I know for a fact that there are many smart, forward-thinking people living in the Lone Star State, but I grant you, theirs are not the faces we see or the voices we hear on a daily basis. But you know who might save Texas's's's(?) reputation with all of us liberal smarty pantsers? Mollie Ivins, that's who! This brilliant syndicated columnist really gets it. And really gives it. Might I suggest "Shrub: The Short But Happy Political Life of George W. Bush" and its follow up "Bushwhacked: Life In George W. Bush’s America?" But, damn, is she funny and biting and smart and Texan? This previous advertisement was brought to you by Friends of Steve Anacker and approved by me, Steve Anacker. This might be a good time to let you all know that I've decided to enter the race. For 2008. Four years and change seems plenty of time to get my message out to the people. I'm not picky on which office, either. I'd love President but Vice President would be fine. Or even Sergeant at Arms. Especially Sergeant at Arms! Qualification #1: I was Sergeant at Arms of my High School French Club, and I didn't even take French. Promising you a brighter tomorrow, Steve Anacker
